Also, I was at HOPE Number Nine this past weekend and met a few lovely people, not too many, though, cos I’m afraid of people.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I let it slip by.

Didn’t make anything ridiculous. No party hats or fireworks. And it was a milestone, even. 5-0. Half a goddamn century. I stared at the announcement all day yesterday on Facebook. (Yeah, on Facebook.) But I have friends and a life and I just moved house this past weekend, so… other things on my mind, you know?

So do we want news, which is old at this point, or something fun?

I’m voting for fun since everything else is so serious right now.

Derp, Derp, Hrafnsson, Derp

You guys, I don’t know about Kristinn but I’ve been “busy”. By the time he finally did show his face in public again I was tired of him toying with my emotions. He abandoned me, so I in-turn, have abandoned him for a while. Tit-for-motherfuckin-tat. :D

But today I decided it was time to play catch-up. I’ve been putting it off for a while but I think now is the time to show him some love.

Way back on 25 March, Kristinn was in Norway, speaking at SKUP for the second year in a row. While he wasn’t on a panel with David Leigh, he did still manage to throw some snark his way. I think he said something about DL running away from him…

This, from 10 April re: the upcoming Icelandic presidential election. I don’t understand what’s going on but, as they are wont to do in Iceland, the comments were on Facebook. Kristinn basically told Egill to check himself before he wrecks himself as far as I can tell.

I’m getting to IJF in Perugia, but apparently he was also at another journalism conference in Iceland on the weekend of 21-22 April. No photos, though, except the one of Johannes Kr. Kristjansson and that other guy. :(

And then there was the International Journalism Festival this past weekend:

Here’s a not very informative blog entry (about Kristinn’s part in the festival) with a photo of KH where the author decides to tell us that she “had a short chat with Kristinn Hrafnsson on the case of the US soldier Bradley Manning,” but doesn’t tell us what he said. I want details, woman! But she does mention some other folks who spoke at the festival whose names may be familiar to you.

Oh! And I totally missed the one year anniversary of Fuck Yeah, Kristinn Hrafnsson. FYKH turned 1 on 13 April. It’s a good thing I’m not one to get hung up on such things or I’d be totally bummed!

Kristinn, like me, spent all day yesterday trying to decide if he should go back to work or not.

Sike. I don’t know what he’s been doing! Hanging out at home, I assume. Lying low.

You know what I’d like? Some new photos of him in the snow, preferably in Iceland. Does it snow there? Don’t seriously answer that.

Anyway… the only KH-specific “news” there’s been in weeks is that he will be attending this, the International Journalism Festival, which will be held at the end of April in Perugia. I think he attended this last year as well. Gavin MacFadyen will also be there, I guess the two are now a tag-team act or something. :-)
